Renaissance Faire News - Sharing the Joy of Faire, one post at a time at FaireNews.com!!

About

Faire News is a blog designed to share with you the joy we find at Renaissance, Medieval, Pyrate, Faerie and other costuming events. If you’re looking for reviews of past faires, reminders about upcoming events, and the occasional rambling thoughts that are faire related in some way, you’ve come to the right place. You can also learn more about the performers, cast, staff, and merchants that bring the events to life by reading interview based articles.

Leinad & EscarlataEscarlata Cisneros and Leinad Thornwolf decided in 2008 to begin publishing notes about past events and upcoming items of interest as we find them. Miscellaneous announcements and random thoughts are possible at any time *chuckling* just because things don’t always show up when we expect them.

With 21 years attendance at mostly Eastern Faires, Esc and Leinad have met so many outstanding people who contribute to the overall feel of Faire, whether they are performer, cast or staff member, merchant, or visitor. Wanting to share the people who make faire possible with you, Esc began interviewing them, asking all kinds of impertinent questions. Leinad specializes in wandering the site, capturing candid shots to illustrate the articles. The articles resulting from the interviews are published as part of the “Have You Met?” Series.

We have done Silver Leaf Ren Faire for 17 years, and was
wondering if the Hounds of Royalty (Greyhounds) will be
allowed at the Michigan Ren Faire. Also, what is the fee
PER DOG. Not only do we come in costume, but also costume
up the dogs, according to the theme of the weekend we
attire. We garner a lot of attention and pass out info
on what really goes on behind the scenes of dog racing,
along with info on where and how a person can adopt a
RESCUED and retired racer, usually between the ages of
    2 and 4.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Lady Judy Jones, Staff & The Hounds of Royalty

Lady Judy, FaireNews doesn’t dictate individual faires’ policies. I’m sending you a private email with the information I found regarding animals at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Esc

I wish to inquire if you could help me to reconnect friend named Ken Davenport. I last heard that he was affiliated with your Renaissance Festival.
    Thank you for your time.

I’m sorry, I’m not going to be of any assistance. I don’t work for any faire though I attend many. Often the employees and cast of faires are temporary workers hired for the run.

I wish you luck connecting with him,

    Esc

Hi, I’d like to add a faire to the list, it popped up in google for last year but hasn’t been renewed for this year. Its next weekend, Sept. 12 and 13, 10 to 6 at Chandler Park in Tulsa. This will be our second year and it has really grown!

The full name for the show is Tulsa Kings Champion Medieval Faire.

If you have any questions, just give me a shout!
    Rene

Oh, thanks! I’m starting to collect the 2010 dates for the calendar and really appreciate the help. I’ll get them added this week.

Hi, Rene, and welcome to FaireNews. Kings Champion was on the calendar. I’ve not done any posts for most of this year. That’s why nothing showed up in Google when you did the search. I’m working on different ways to get the info out without it consuming my life. Look for posts to start again soon.

Thanks, Ammie, and welcome to FaireNews. You’ve caught a couple here that I wasn’t aware of and one that I thought was on the calendar and isn’t. Thanks for letting me know about them.
